Aerosol car paint for body shop quality finish

PaintNuts professional colour matched car spray paint. The car aerosol paint comes with a precision spray nozzle and adjustable pan spray pattern is ideal for bodywork repairs:

    • Dent repairs
    • Wing mirrors
    • Bumpers

    Excellent coverage and protection

    Bodyshop quality automotive paints.

    Precision spray nozzle

Unlike basic car spray paint, you can spray either horizontally or vertically to achieve superior results.

Perfectly teamed with our PaintNuts primers, lacquers and body fillers

When using a car paint spray we’d recommend starting with our primer to help the paint stick – especially for use on any rust or filler if there are more damaged areas - then for added protection and even finish top with a coat of lacquer.

  • Directions for use

    Prepare & Clean

Depending on your damage in most cases with a car paint aerosol we would recommend using a Primer first.

    1. Once you are ready to apply the car spray paint start by flattening down the area using a wet and dry sandpaper to ensure any defects are diminished - we recommend the Norton Topcoat project pack.

The surface must be clean and dry - make sure all wax, polish and grease is removed. For best results use PaintNuts Panel Wipe spray and a Degreasing Cloth then a Sticky Tac Rag to remove any dust.

    Shake & Test

    1. Shake car spray paint for 2-3 minutes to ensure the paint within the can is mixed.
    2. Before applying the car spray paint to the vehicle, we recommend testing the colour and which spray pattern you require, you can adjust the nozzle to spray horizontally or vertically.

On white card - check how many coats you require to match the original colour. Too few coats will look too light, too much car spray paint/ too many coats will make the colour too dark.

    Paint & Finish

    1. Either vertically or horizontally apply in smooth cross coats 250mm distance from the repair.
    2. Leave to dry for 15 minutes before applying a second coat of car spray paint if necessary and leave 4 hours before applying PaintNuts lacquer.
    3. After use turn the car paint spray upside down to empty nozzle valve to clean then it can be reused at a later date.

PLEASE NOTE: – Aerosols should not be applied in cold, damp weather – it will adversely affect the application, finish, and drying time.

The recommended minimum temperature for using car spray paint is 15+ degrees, preferably room temperature indoors in a warm and well-ventilated area.

Colour Matched Touch Up Car Spray Paint

Our touch-up car paint aerosols have an adjustable fan spray nozzle for superior application and a professional bodyshop quality finish.
Perfect for larger bodywork repairs

Perfect product for the job

The PaintNuts touch-up car spray paint is ideal for addressing large bodywork repairs. Below is our recommended guide for using and applying automotive touch-up paint effectively.

If you have deep bodywork damage OR if you can see bare metal or plastic, we recommend using PaintNuts Primer first - if rust is present, we suggest our Rust Convertor as well.

How to use the PaintNuts Aerosol

Simple steps for a perfect touch up
Do this in three simple steps...
  • Mix and check
  • Prepare the area
  • Apply the products
STEP ONE1
How to use the PaintNuts Grey PrimerUse the Grey Primer
  • Mixing - Shake aerosol thoroughly for at least 1 minute to ensure the primer is mixed correctly.
  • Preparation - The surface must be clean and dry - make sure all wax, polish and dust is removed. If rust is present we suggest a rust treatment as well.
  • Application - Apply in cross coats from a distance of 25cm from the object, ensuring you only apply the primer within the intended area. Leave the primer to dry for 10-25 minutes before applying a second coat if required. Leave the primer to cure for 2 hours before applying the colour matched paint.
STEP TWO2
How to use the PaintNuts Colour Matched Touch Up PaintUse the Colour Matched Paint
  • Mixing & Colour Check - Shake the Paint Pen for at least 3 Minutes to ensure the paint is thoroughly mixed correctly (if your paint is a Metallic Paint, you may notice the paint has separated within the bottle, this paint will need a vigourous shake, then test in a discreet area to check the colour match leaving the paint to dry for 10 minutes – paints will often appear different in colour inside the bottle, when wet or if applied incorrectly.
  • Preparation - The surface must be clean and dry - make sure all wax, polish and dust is removed.
  • Application - Using either the metal nib/pen or brush apply thin, light coats in smooth strokes; if you’re using the needle point pen allow the nib to sit inside the scratch or chip and squeeze gently ensuring you only apply the paint within the damaged area. Do Not apply new paint on top of existing paint as this will leave the area of repair looking lighter or darker. Leave the colour matched paint to dry for upto 30 mins before applying any further coats, if no further coat is required, then leave to cure for 1 full hour before applying the PaintNuts Clear Lacquer.
STEP THREE3
How to use the PaintNuts Clear LacquerUse the Clear Lacquer
  • Mixing - Shake pen thoroughly for at least 1 minute to ensure the lacquer is mixed correctly.
  • Preparation - The surface must be clean and dry - make sure all wax, polish and dust is removed.
  • Application - Using either pen or brush apply thin, light coats in smooth strokes; if you’re using the needle point pen allow the nib to sit in the scratch or chip and squeeze gently ensuring you only apply the lacquer witin the damaged area. Leave the lacquer to dry for up to 30 minutes before applying a second coat if required, if no further coat is required, you must leave the lacquer to cure for 4 hours before you use any buffing or polishing solution/compound.
