How do I use Mercedes touch-up paint?

You can choose to have your Mercedes touch-up paint as either a touch-up paint pen, bottle and brush, or car spray paint. The option you choose will determine how you apply the paint.

Mercedes Touch-Up Paint Pen

First make sure the surface of your paintwork is clean and dry. Next, mix the paint in the touch-up pen by shaking it for 60 seconds, before applying it to the scratch in thin layers. If applying more than one coat of paint, you should wait 10-25 minutes between coats and 24 hours after the final coat before adding polish or lacquer

Mercedes Touch-Up Bottle & Brush

Clean the surface of your bodywork, smooth the surface with sandpaper and apply primer if needed. To ensure the paint is sufficiently mixed, shake the touch-up bottle for 2-3 minutes and test the colour. If the paint is correct, apply it in thin coats, leaving 10-15 minutes between each coat. After you have applied the final paint layer, leave it to cure for 1 hour before polishing or adding lacquer.

Mercedes Touch-Up Spray Paint

First clean the surface of your paintwork and make sure it’s smooth. Check the colour of your Mercedes spray paint by shaking it for 2-3 minutes before spraying a small amount on a piece of card or other surface that’s not your car. If it’s the correct paint colour, apply it to the scratched area in cross-coats from 250mm away. Apply as many coats as needed, allowing 15 minutes between each coat for the paint to dry. If you’re using lacquer, wait 24 hours after the final coat before using it. Clean the aerosol nozzle by spraying it upside-down after use.

How do I repair a scratch on my Mercedes?

To repair a scratch on your Mercedes, make sure you have the following items:

Start by cleaning the scratched area and then apply the polishing compound with the Microfibre cloth. You may find the scratch disappears after this point, especially if it’s a faint or minor scratch. If the scratch is still present, you will need to use the Mercedes touch-up pen as well.

To paint over the scratch with the touch-up pen, make sure the bodywork surface is clean. Now apply the touch-up paint over the scratch in thin layers, allowing each layer to dry for 25 minutes.

Wait 24 hours after applying the final coat, then blend the new paint with the rest of the paintwork by adding some lacquer or polishing compound. See our step-by-step guide on using our touch-up pen for more information.
