The Ford Kuga over the years
Hitting our roads in 2008, the Ford Kuga is Ford’s answer to the SUV market. The first generation was originally offered as a hatch-back-sized exterior with a roomy and spacious interior that felt like it belonged in a Ford Minivan. The car was a great option for motorists looking for a family car.
On release, Ford offered buyers a good range of paint colours for the Ford Kuga. Colours like Moondust Silver Metallic, Machine Metallic, and Sea Grey Metallic gave motorists neutral options, whereas, at the other end of the spectrum, Ford offered the Kuga in exciting and vibrant colours like Red Pepper Metallic and Blazer Blue.
For four years, the Ford Kuga and its paint colour options remained largely unchanged. Then, in 2012, Ford introduced the second-generation Kuga. This time, the Kuga was bigger all around and had a different rear and front bumper. The Kuga also saw other improvements, like updated technology in the form of an infotainment unit, LED lights, and other additions.
The second-generation Ford Kuga also had a change of paint colour options, apart from some familiars from the previous generation, like Panther Black, Frozen White, and Blazer Blue. The new Ford paint colour options included the rich and visually striking Ruby Red Metallic, as well as other vibrant paint colours like Tiger Eye Metallic and the Ford fan favourite Race Red.
In 2016, the third generation Ford Kuga was released with a few more changes from the previous generation. For the first time in its history, the Kuga was offered to motorists with turbocharged petrol or diesel engines.
To accompany the changes, the Kuga had some alternative paint colours to previous generations. Colours like Lucid Red, Chrome Blue, and Diffused Silver were not offered with earlier models.
Presently, in 2024, we are on the most recent generation of Ford Kuga. The car can be bought with either a petrol Eco-Boost engine or as a Hybrid. Colour options include Desert Island Blue, Agate Green and Agate Black.
