Kia Picanto over the years
Bursting onto the scene in 2004, the Kia introduced us to the Picanto - a small, compact car explicitly designed for city driving. Functional, affordable and practical, it was easy to see why the Picanto was, and still is, so popular. Engine options weren’t bad either, with the first generation Picanto offering a 1.0-litre or a 1.1-litre turbo diesel to be selected by motorists. If that wasn’t enough to persuade buyers, Kia offered a range of exciting paint colours like Lime Green, Stratos Blue, Sunset Orange and Galaxy Black.
Released in 2011, the second generation Kia Picanto had a more contemporary and stylish design to bring it more up-to-date with the new decade. This generation was available as a 3-door or 5-door, so a slightly larger Picanto was seen during this time. Engine options included a 1.0-liter and 1.25-liter engine, and more enhanced safety features were introduced to the Picanto. For paint colours, Kia offered an updated palette, too, with paint colours like Alice Blue, Honey Bee, Clear White, Lemon Yellow, and Caffe Mocha.
Come 2020, the third generation of the Picanto was introduced to the roads in 2020. Coming with a more mature and refined design, this generation of the Picanto saw improvements like a redesigned dashboard. This generation is also the first to feature a GT-line version with enhanced performance and other gimmicks like air scoops and an air dam. As with previous generations of the Kia Picanto, there is still an impressive colour palette on offer. As of 2024, motorists looking to purchase a brand new Kia Picanto can choose Kia paint colours that include Blaze Red, Clear White, Azure Blue and Adventurous Green.
