The history of Mercedes A-Class car paint

The Mercedes A-Class first graced our roads in 1997. Coming with a varied colour palette, buyers could choose a vibrant and rich Sunburst yellow, an equally bold Canyon Red or a neutral Cosmos Black paint colour, among many others.

After 7 years, the first generation A-Class was updated in 2004. Along with the significant redesign of the car such as having a hatchback body shape and improved interior, an updated colour choice was provided too. Mercedes paint colours like South Seas Blue, Jupiter Red, Mountain Grey and Calcite were now provided as possible paint colours.

Coming with a sportier design, more advanced technology and increased efficiency engines, the third generation Mercedes A-Class was welcomed by motorists in 2012. Along with the improvements, Mercedes seemed to transition from the more colourful colour options to neutral and plain shades. Car paint colours like Cirrus White, Calcite White, Mountain Grey, Polar Silver and Night Black were the options available to motorists, along with a splash of colour like Elbaite Green.

Lasting 6 years, Mercedes decided to update the A-Class in 2018, bringing us the fourth and, as of 2024, the most recent generation. Colours like a subtle Denim Blue, a dramatic and intense Patagonia Red, a crisp and delicate Polar White and a bright but sharp Iridium Silver.
