BMW 1 Series car paint over the years

Introduced in 2004, the BMW 1 series was BMW’s answer to the elegant compact car that had seen a rise in popularity since the late 90s. The first BMW 1 series was available in a handful of paint colours.

The standard whites, blacks and silver were on offer in the form of 300 Alpinweiß (a bright, crisp white), 668 Schwarz (an intriguing black) and 354 Titansilber (a light, metallic silver). Of course, there were other colours on offer for BMW 1 series buyers in 2004 too.

Come three years later in 2007, it seemed BMW hadn’t updated its colour palette much. Buyers during this time were still offered the same black, white and silver as before, and a few changes too. B45 Estoril Blue, a pearlescent blue and B09 Marrakeschbraun, a dark and rich brown were the BMW paint colours that were now on offer.

When the second generation BMW 1 Series was introduced, there was a considerable change to the colours available. Presumably to keep the theme of the mechanical and style changes the BMW 1 Series underwent during this time. A pale and metallic grey, A52 Spacegrau, 958 Indigoblau metallic, another shade of pearlescent blue, were just a few of the car paint colours offered by BMW during this time.

Fast forward to 2023 and we can see BMW have forgoed any green option and instead replaced it with two shades of blue (C1M Phytonic Blue Metallic and C1G Snapper Rocks Blue Metallic), C1X Sunset Orange, A75 Melbourne Red among others. There are white and black BMW paint colour options too in the form of A96 Mineral White Metallic, 300 Alpine White, 668 Jet Black and 475 Black Sapphire Metallic
