Ford Mondeo over the years
The Ford Mondeo was first introduced in 1992. Designed in three body styles, including a saloon and an estate, the first generation Ford Mondeo was designed to be at its core, a reliable family vehicle that looked stylish and contemporary too.
With 8 years on the roads, Ford decided to it was time to replace the first generation Modeo with the second generation in the year 2000. Featuring improved safety features and design changes that made it more comfortable, the second generation had other improvements to offer as well. A wider range of engines were now available, including a powerful V6. For paint colours, Ford gave buyers the option to choose from a selection of colours that included Amparo Blue, Stardust Silver, Petrol Blue and Pacific Green.
Launched in 2007, the third generation of the Ford Mondeo was released, replacing the second generation. This generation featured more improvements to the interior and other design improvements that gave drivers and passengers a more comfortable and quiet ride. Still proving to be one of its most popular models in the UK, Ford probably helped sales of the Mondeo with its variety of paint colours on offer to buyers, which included Blazer Blue, Sea Grey, Tango Red and Panther Black.
Seven years later, in 2014, the third generation of the Ford Mondeo was retired and replaced with the fourth generation. This time, offering buyers the option of selecting a turbo-charged engine and different colour options like Ruby Red and Deep Impact Blue, there was a lot to sway motorists into buying a Mondeo.
Having said that, due to falling sales and also because of competition from the SUV market, Ford decided to discontinue the beloved Mondeo in March 2022.
