Riley Motor was founded in 1896 as the Riley Cycle Company. It became part of the Nuffield Organisation in 1938 and merged into the British Leyland Motor Corporation in 1968. Production stopped in 1969, though some new Rileys were registered in 1970.

Riley classic paint names
The paint code is typically printed on a metal plate (the size of a wallet) or a sticker. It’s a combination of a letter plus 2 to 3 numbers, like:
