A popular everyday hatchback ever since its first introduction in 1990, the Renault Clio has been seen with a whole spectrum of colours throughout its nearly 35-year reign. The first generation, which started in 1990 and was replaced in 1998, and was available in shades of classic colours as well as some more eye-catching shades like Jaune Giese, a bright yellow and Rouge Pompiers, a bold and striking red that was inspired by fire engines of the time.
After 8 years, the first-generation Clio was succeeded by the second generation. Along with an updated and rounder bodyshell and other updates like an aluminium bonnet, better performance and an interior designed for comfort, the Renault Clio came with a different colour palette too. Of the range, the most notable colours were Orange Tangerine, Vert Emeraude and Violet Blue Renault car paint colours.
Following 7 years on the road, the second generation Renault Clio was replaced by the third generation. Receiving further upgrades, the Renault Clio was now available with some new paint colours too. Stand-out colours in the Clio range included Gris Platine, a metallic grey, Rouge Garrance Nacre, a vibrant, pearlescent red and Bleu Majorelle, a deep blue that had a metallic finish.
The fourth generation Renault Clio hit the roads in 2012 and had different colours available to motorists again. Rouge Flamme, as the name suggests, was a red-going-on-orange shade, Brun Magma, a chocolate brown and Bleu Cosmos, a bold and metallic blue, were some of the Renault Clio paint colours favoured by motorists during this time.
Currently, in 2024, Renault offers 7 paint colours for the Clio. Shades range from a crisp Blanc Glacier, to a dark, mysterious and metallic Shadow Grey. Renault also offers up some more colourful options with Bleu Iron, Rouge Flamme and Valencia Orange.
