Only releasing their first car, The Polestar 1, in 2017, Polestar is a newcomer to the automotive industry. The company’s origins are firmly rooted in Swedish racing, originally being called Flash Engineering, who competed in the Swedish Touring Car Championship. Eventually, Flash Engineering was sold and in the late 2000s was rebranded as Polestar Racing, becoming the official Volvo partner to modify their existing models. Eventually in 2015, Volvo purchased Polestar outright.
