Known for its everyday image and reliability, the Nissan Micra first hit our roads in 1982. Easy to drive, simple, and yet modern for its day in the early 1980s, the Micra was a hit right away, particularly with young drivers. The first generation was available only as a three-door, but Nissan still offered options elsewhere, like several engine and transmission options.

With us for over 10 years, the first generation Nissan Micra was eventually replaced by the second generation. This time, the Micra had a more ‘squat’ design—it looked to have a shorter wheelbase and the look of a small and stylish hatchback. It also had other improvements, like electric windows and power steering. Not only that, but Nissan also offered the Micra in a wide variety of paint colours.

To update the look for the early 2000s, Nissan released the third generation in 2002. With a less boxy design and more rounded edges, it meant the Micra looked closer to a bubble car with a more joyful appearance than a nippy little hatchback. To go with evolving tastes and the fun nature of the car, Nissan eventually released the option with the third generation to come as a hard-top convertible too. As far as paint colours go, Nissan iconically gave the option of this generation of Micra to come in Baby Pink. Other paint colours included Blade Silver, Pacific Blue and Tungsten Grey.

Come 2010, the Nissan Micra's fourth generation hit the roads. Keeping its rounded design, the Nissan Micra hadn’t changed much in appearance from the third generation. However, there were other improvements, like improved fuel efficiency and technology. In terms of paint colours, Nissan offered buyers new shades like Shiraz Red, Pearl White, and Sapphire Blue.

Sadly discontinued in 2022, the final generation of the Nissan Micra was released in 2017. This time, the Micra was longer and wider than the previous generation, making it more spacious inside. Despite the updated design, it still had a small and compact look that made it undeniably a Nissan Micra at first glance. The final offering for paint colours Nissan left us with for the Micra included Ivory White, Power Blue and Passion Red
